We booked the Medieval Banquet at Coombe Abbey and rented two amazing costumes from the on-site fancy dress shop, Glad Rags. The lady running the shop was very helpful and attentive, guiding us through various outfit options and even suggesting smaller details like crowns and headpieces.
The whole process was simple: you pay for the costumes plus a deposit, which is refunded when you return the items. Although we could have left the costumes at the hotel, we chose to return them directly to the shop. The lady was kind enough to open a little earlier so we could drop everything off and get our deposit back.
Overall, we were incredibly happy with both the costumes and the rental experience. We would definitely recommend Glad Rags - especially if you’re attending a themed event at Coombe Abbey!

We booked a stay at Coombe Abbey along with a medieval banquet. Since I was busy during the week, I couldn’t get there until just a few hours before the banquet. However, Maria was extremely helpful in helping me choose the right outfit with all the accessories, and she was also kind enough to let me take a few costumes with me so I could decide what to wear later. Overall, a very good experience which made the whole evening feel truly special and memorable.

We recently had a visit to Coombe Abbey for a Medievil night, I had left my costume at home. Gladrags fancy dress hire had opened at Coombe Abbey so I called in to see if I could hire a Medievil dress. I wasn’t disappointed. I was shown several gorgeous dresses and jewellery. I hired a beautiful ruby red velvet dress and head band and was kindly lent the jewellery. I was treated very well in the shop, the lady was very kind. The dress was a huge hit with several other guests complimenting me on the outfit. I had to pay a fee plus a deposit but the deposit was returned once the dress was returned to the shop. I would definitely recommend Gladrags to anyone attending the medieval night or in need of any fancy dress costume.

We were stopping over at Coombe Abbey for a Medieval Banquet. Glad Rags was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Fantastic customer service. A multitude of costumes offered. When we chose our outfits the costumes were delivered to the hotel reception. The next morning we dropped the costumes at reception for collection. Highly recommend Glad Rags for the amazing costumes that helped make our night really enjoyable and for the awesome customer service.

Fantastic experience! The staff are so helpful, I went in trying to find anything I could make a green goblin costume out of for my son and left with everything I needed. Although they have a large amount of costumes to choose from, they didn't have a green goblin but they did check every nook and cranny of the shop to find bits and bobs from other costumes that I could use. Needed a fairy story costume for my son and the lady in the shop was so helpful. Got Pinocchio in the end but there is a great selection of costumes for adults and children at reasonable rates to hire. Ive driven past a million times and only thought it was a flower shop, but the fancy dress shop is down the drive behind. A brilliant find. I`d recommend this shop. Thanks !!

I hired a hippie style outfit from glad rags fancy dress and was abit nervous about the whole dressing up thing but I didn`t need to worry as the lady that helped me put me completely at ease. She was very welcoming and friendly and with her advice I was able to select an outfit I felt happy in. The shop is a real little gem which I shall definitely be using again and recommend to friends. Called in there this weekend for a last minute emergency outfit. the lady who served me could not have been more helpful. She was able to provide plenty suitable options at a good price too.
My night out was made even more enjoyable due to being able to confidently turn up looking the part. When I took the outfit back on Monday , I was greeted by the same lady who obviously remembered serving me and she asked how my night had gone and seemed genuinely interested in my response. We chatted at length about the night and not once did the conversation seem forced or fake.
To me , as a retail manager myself , this level of service is as important as the product itself and it was obvious the lady cares about her business.
I know for a fact that if I have to attend another event or hear of others who are , Glad rags fancy dress will be my first port of call.

Absolutely amazing even though the Darth Maul outfit was out of stock they still made up a very life like Darth Maul costume and the Obi-Wan Kenobi costume look like it came from the movie itself very kind and helpful staff.
